Queen of Charles I The youngest daughter of Henry IV of France and Marie de Medici, Henrietta Maria married Charles I in 1625. Her Catholicism alienated many of her English subjects. She gave strong, loving support to Charles I during his troubles, and practical assistance during the Civil War by personally bringing munitions from France, and pawning her jewellery to raise funds.
Henrietta Maria (1609–1669), the queen consort of Charles I of England, was born in the Louvre and was named after both of her parents, Henry IV of France (1553–1610) and Marie de’ Medici (1573–1642)

She was the youngest daughter of Henry IV of France and Marie de Medici. Henry had become Henry III of Navarre in 1572. He was to become the first Bourbon king of France.
