Henry VIII (28 June 1491 28 January 1547) was King of England and Lord of Ireland, later King of Ireland and claimant to the Kingdom of France, from 21 April 1509 until his death. Henry was the second monarch of the House of Tudor, succeeding his father, Henry VII. Henry VIII was a significant figure in the history of the English monarchy.

(Show more) Henry I (born 1069, Selby, Yorkshire, England—died December 1, 1135, Lyons-la-Forêt, Normandy) was the youngest and ablest of William I the Conqueror ’s sons, who, as king of England (1100–35), strengthened the crown’s executive powers and, like his father, also ruled Normandy (from 1106).
William, now known to us as The Conqueror, was known to his contemporaries as William the Bastard. His mother, Herleva, bore the only son of Robert, Duke of Normandy in the year 1028. After William's birth his mother was married to one of Robert's followers and had two more sons, Robert and Odo.
