Common flowers used for ikebana are cherry blossom, bamboo, chrysanthemum, iris, and pine. Ikebana’s significance in Japanese culture goes beyond mere flower arrangement.
Who are we. Founded in 1956, Ikebana International is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to promoting and appreciating the art of ikebana. Today, there are 138 worldwide chapters in 44 countries and a membership exceeding 6,500.
