Following For Your Eyes Only, Roger Moore had expressed a desire to retire from the role of James Bond. Filming
The filming of Octopussy began in West Berlin on 10 August 1982 with the scene in which Bond arrives at Checkpoint Charlie. Other locations from the city included Spandau Prison, the Brandenburg Gate, and Potsdamer Platz.
