Jonathan Abrams is a Canadian engineer, entrepreneur, and investor. He is best known as the founder of Friendster where he worked from 2002 to 2005. He then founded Socializr, where he worked from 2005 to 2010, and Nuzzel, where he stayed from 2012 to 2018.

17 de sept. de 2012 · Friendster fue creada por Jonathan Abrams y Rob Pazornik en 2002 (dos años antes que Facebook) y fue una de las primeras plataformas de este tipo en superar el 1 millón de miembros, con mucha popularidad en EE.UU. En 2008 rebasó los 115 millones de usuarios registrados y se expandió por Asia.
Abrams la bautizó con el nombre de Friendster. Si la proviéramos ahora, el funcionamiento nos recordaría mucho el de Facebook. De hecho, Friendster pudo catapultar a Abrams hacia el Olimpo tecnológico y haberlo sentado en el trono que, desde hace años, calienta a Mark Zuckerberg, fundador de Facebook.

Friendster was founded by Canadian computer programmer Jonathan Abrams in 2002, before MySpace (2003), Hi5 (2004), Facebook (2004) and other social networking sites. Friendster.com went live in 2003 and was adopted by 3 million users within the first few months.
