Lambeth Palace is the official London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury. It is situated in north Lambeth, London, on the south bank of the River Thames, 400 yards (370 metres) south-east of the Palace of Westminster, which houses Parliament, on the opposite bank.

Lambeth Palace is the London home of the Archbishop of Canterbury, his family and two religious communities. It is the centre of his ministry, worship and hospitality. The Palace is also used as an events venue for organisations and charities.
Lambeth Palace, official London residence of the Anglican archbishop of Canterbury and until 1978 the site of the Lambeth Conference, an episcopal assembly that is called about once every 10 years (the conference now meets at Canterbury). About 1200 the first sections of the palace were built.
