Culture. A cultural landscape is made up of structures within the physical landscape caused by human imprint/human activities. Ex: buildings, artwork, Protestant churches in the US South - Cathedrals in Southern/western Europe, mosques in Southwest Asia. Cultural ecology is the study of how the natural environment can influence a cultural group.
Karst sinkholes are naturally enclosed funnel-shaped depressions that are the prime diagnostic features of a karst landscape (Figure 12.2.8). These features can range in size from a few meters in diameter up to a kilometer or so in size. In European literature karst sinkholes are typically called ‘dolines’.
