Fargo is an example of some people thinking the Northern Minnesota accent is played for comedy, but to those that are familiar with those accents it plays as authentic. As far as Manchester by the Sea, I think the setting with the Boston accent makes this movie feel even more authentic.

My dad, aunt and I went together over Thanksgiving, and I still can’t stop thinking about the powerful acting, funny dialogue and heartbreaking story. It was haunting. Without giving anything else away, I’ll just say: go forth and see it.
