  3. Our most recent ISI inspection report (December 2023) commented that: ‘The boarding houses have a strong sense of community, which boarders speak warmly about. Boarding leaders create a cohesive house environment which is paramount to boarders’ social development.

  4. The main block of what now forms C House, it was built by Charles Seymour, 6th Duke of Somerset and is a Grade I listed building. Next to it are the old stables, now converted into boarding houses. The west side consists of the 1959 red brick dining hall, and a Victorian boarding house now converted to other purposes.

    Key Facts. B1 is an all-age house for boys situated at the centre of the campus in Court, just opposite New Court. The building was designed by the Victorian architect Edward Blore and was one of the first custom-built boarding houses of any school in the country.
