On the Pacific coast of Washington state is a bay called Grays Harbor, yes that Robert Gray, so named by Captain George Vancouver. In 1985, nearly two centuries after Gray and Vancouver made their discoveries, the bay accommodated a number of small towns, the largest being Aberdeen with a population of about 17,500 souls.
