It’s praise indeed from someone with such a rich interest in the subject; after all, Vickers edited James Pope-Hennessy’s The Quest for Queen Mary on the subject of Princess Mary’s mother.

Mary was widowed on May 24, 1947 and she spent the rest of her life continuing to live at Harewood House with her eldest son, George, and his family.
