It was an idyllic warm sunny day and the sea was calm, prompting the earl and some of his party to set out on his fishing boat, Shadow V, to pull up some lobster pots they’d laid days earlier.

Hace 1 día · Mountbatten usually holidayed at his summer home, Classiebawn Castle, on the Mullaghmore Peninsula in County Sligo, in the north-west of Ireland. The village was only 12 miles (19 km) from the border with County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland and near an area known to be used as a cross-border refuge by IRA members.
