25 de abr. de 2011 · This is one of the first pieces of furniture that belonged to the Hilltop Chambers of Peter the Great, later named the Grand Peterhof Palace. In 2018 "Secrets of Folding Screen" won the Digital Storytelling Award at the Museum Geek Internet Festival for museum media.
Peterhof (Petrodvorets) One of St. Petersburg's most famous and popular visitor attractions, the palace and park at Peterhof (also known as Petrodvorets) are often referred to as "the Russian Versailles", although many visitors conclude that the comparison does a disservice to the grandeur and scope of this majestic estate.
Great Peterhof Palace. The three storey great palace sits on top of the ridge that separates the upper and lower parks. What is seen now is what was seen in Peter the Great's time. In his time there was only a small royal mansion at the site.
The Grand Palace along with the large fountain cascade in front of it is the main attraction of Peterhof and architectural dominant of the whole Palace and Park complex. In XVII – XIX centuries the Grand Peterhof Palace was the main ceremonial residence of Russian tsars, which hosted important events and celebrations, receptions, balls and masquerades.
