  4. 14 de may. de 2022 · Prince Arthur was born on 1 May 1850. His full name was Arthur William Patrick Albert. He was born to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. He was the seventh child of the couple and the third son of his mother. In 1874 he was declared a royal duke and became the first Duke of Connaught and Strathearn and the Earl of Sussex.

He entered the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, in 1866 and did well in the army, becoming full general in 1893 and field marshal in 1902. He served in Egypt in 1882, commanding the 1st Guards Brigade at Tel el Kebir.
