This reunites the duo for the first time since one of Elise's very few cameos in Sonic Rider: Zero Gravity, and shows that Sonic Team hasn't forgotten about the character completely.

Doctor Eggman kidnaps Princess Elise of Soleanna in the hopes of harnessing the Flames of Disaster, a destructive power sealed inside her. Aided by his friends Tails and Knuckles, Sonic works to rescue Elise from Eggman. Meanwhile, Shadow, his fellow agent Rouge, and Eggman accidentally release an evil spirit, Mephiles.
Sonic returns for Elise, but is once again attacked by Silver, also allowing Eggman to kidnap Elise again. Fortunately, Shadow arrives to confront Silver, allowing Sonic to rescue Elise. After running through the jungle, Sonic tells Elise she should return to the castle.
