Hace 4 días · Alberta’s name comes from Princess Louise Caroline Alberta (1848–1939), who was the wife of a Governor General of Canada. She was considered a rebel and feminist for her time. Alberta’s most famous lake, Lake Louise (cover photo), was also named after her.
Many people will see Alberta and think of the Canadian province, but the province was actually named after one of Queen Victoria's daughters, Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, who married a Governor General of Canada. Me, I'm fond of the names Albert and Alberta for their meaning of "noble and bright". It doesn't get much better than that.
