  1. SS Princess Sophia was a steel-built passenger liner in the coastal service fleet of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). Along with SS Princess Adelaide, SS Princess Alice, and SS Princess Mary, Princess Sophia was one of four similar ships built for CPR during 1910-1911.

  2. The tragic sinking of the Princess Sophia, a Canadian Pacific Steamer, occurred in late October 1918. At least 353 passengers and crew lost their lives in the wintery waters near Vanderbilt Reef. The shipwreck occurred days before the end of the First World War.

  5. On October 25, 1918, the coastal steamer SS Princess Sophia sank after hitting Vanderbilt Reef in Lynn Canal north of Juneau, Alaska, with the loss of at all 343 people on board. Over 100 of those people were from Dawson.
