Therese Charlotte Luise of Saxony-Hildburghausen (8 July 1792 – 26 October 1854) was queen of Bavaria as the wife of King Ludwig I. Oktoberfest was created in honour of their wedding and is still celebrated annually on Theresienwiese in Munich.
Therese Charlotte Luise Friederike Amalie von Sachsen-Hildburghausen (auch Therese von Bayern; * 8. Juli 1792 in Seidingstadt; † 26. Oktober 1854 in München) war eine Prinzessin von Sachsen-Hildburghausen und durch ihre Heirat mit Ludwig I. seit 1825 Königin von Bayern.

The future King Ludwig I of Bavaria married Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen on 12 October 1810 and the citizens of Munich were invited to attend the festivities on the field in front of the city gates. The wedding took place on the name day of the Bavarian King Maximilian I.
The more than 200-year-old success story of the largest and greatest funfair of the world dates back to October 17, 1810, when a horse race was held in order to publicly celebrate the marriage between crown prince Ludwig and Therese Charlotte Luise Friederike Amalie von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.

Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen (1792–1854) heiratete am Namenstag ihres Schwiegervaters, am 12. Oktober 1810, den bayerischen Thronfolger Ludwig. Sie wurde die zweite bayerische Königin. Anlässlich der Hochzeit fand in München ein Pferderennen statt, auf das das Oktoberfest zurückgeht.
