Hace 1 día · The Russian Army was heavily dependent upon its main magazines in Poland, and the Prussian Army launched several successful raids against them. One of them, led by general Platen in September resulted in the loss of 2,000 Russians, mostly captured, and the destruction of 5,000 wagons.

Hace 2 días · In the Third Silesian War (the Austrian-Prussian theatre), Austria's goal was the reconquest of Silesia, but Frederick II pre-empted his enemies, and on 29 August 1756 crossed the border of Saxony without a prior declaration of war. Military success alternated and the Prussian army faced defeat in the end, in spite of major victories.

In 1984, a Franco-German association began restoration work on the Fort de Mutzig, which had been abandoned for many years. This association grew until it had 80 volunteers, who today continue to be in charge of preserving this old military position.
DDR kept a pretty strong Prussian identity in the army and railways, which is now fading away pretty much completely Its killed by profit (see Deutsche Bahn) more than intent, although the Brits & Ameircans especially always had a strong hate-boner for Prussia. Interesting, since theyre all nominally Protestant.
