Wyatt's Rebellion was a limited and unsuccessful uprising in England in early 1554 led by four men, one of whom was Sir Thomas Wyatt. It was given its name by the lawyer at Wyatt's arraignment, who stated for the record that "this shall be ever called Wyat's Rebellion". [1]
Sir Thomas Wyatt. (Allington Castle, Kent, c. 1503 - Sherborne, Dorset, 1542) Poeta y diplomático inglés. Graduado en Cambridge en 1518, desde 1524 sirvió al monarca Enrique VIII en diversas misiones diplomáticas en París y Roma.
Mucho después de la muerte de Wyatt, su único hijo legítimo, Sir Thomas Wyatt el Joven, lideró una rebelión frustrada contra la hija de Enrique, María I, por lo que fue ejecutado. El objetivo de la rebelión era poner en el trono a Isabel, la hija de Ana Bolena, de mentalidad protestante.
Thomas Wyatt (1503-6 de octubre de 1542), fue un poeta y diplomático inglés al servicio del rey Enrique VIII, introductor de las formas poéticas italianas en la Inglaterra del Renacimiento .
