In the 2011 national census, 32% of Scots identified their religion as "Church of Scotland". In 2019, according to the Scottish Household Survey, 20% of Scots self-reported themselves as adherents. By 2023, the Church estimated that around 60,000 people worshipped in church on a Sunday, a drop from 88,000 before the Covid pandemic.
