Hace 5 días · Robert the Bruce (born July 11, 1274—died June 7, 1329, Cardross, Dumbartonshire, Scotland) was the king of Scotland (1306–29), who freed Scotland from English rule, winning the decisive Battle of Bannockburn (1314) and ultimately confirming Scottish independence in the Treaty of Northampton (1328).

Robert I de Brus, 1st Lord of Annandale (c. 1078 –1141) was an early-12th-century Anglo-Norman lord and the first of the Bruce dynasty to hold lands in Scotland. A monastic patron, he is remembered as the founder of Gisborough Priory in Yorkshire, England, in present-day Redcar and Cleveland, in 1119.
