  6. Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria was the most able of Germany’s Royal generals during the First World War. He was born in Munich in 1869 to the then Prince Ludwig of Bavaria, the future King Ludwig III. He was also a Jacobite claimant to the British throne, as he was descended from the Stuarts through Prince Rupert of the Rhine.
