Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna of Russia ( Russian: Мария Владимировна Романова, romanized : Maria Vladimirovna Romanova; born 23 December 1953) has been a claimant to the headship of the House of Romanov, the Imperial Family of Russia (who reigned as Emperors and Autocrats of all the Russias from 1613 to 1917) since 1992.
The Grand Duchesses Maria, Olga and Tatiana Nikolaevna of Russia, 1903. Maria was born on 26 June 1899. She was the third child and daughter of Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra. She weighed 4.5 kg at birth. The birth of a third daughter led to widespread disappointment in Russia.

Russian scientists contested this conclusion, however, claiming it was the body of Maria that was missing. The Russians identified the body as that of Anastasia by using a computer program to compare photos of the youngest grand duchess with the skulls of the victims from the mass grave.

In the cellar they and four of their servants were executed by a Bolshevik firing squad on July 17, 1918.
