History and Archive. St Edward’s School was founded in 1863 by the Reverend Thomas Chamberlain, Senior Student and Honorary Canon of Christ Church Oxford, who at the time was the Vicar at St. Thomas the Martyr in Oxford. International Admissions. St Edward’s believes in educating its pupils in an internationally conscientious environment, where an understanding and celebration of different cultures is the norm. We therefore welcome applications from international pupils at Years 9, 10 and 12.
