  1. The story about St John's College land is false - King's Hall (one of the two colleges that was merged into Trinity) was located to the north of the old gate. Some of the King's Hall buildings still survive as King's Hostel.

As a nobleman, he was entitled to take his MA without examinations, but Palmerston wished to obtain his degree through examinations. This was declined, although he was allowed to take the separate college examinations, where he obtained first-class honours.

All College members are invited along to support the women’s netball team in the Cuppers. Matches start at 3.30pm with the quarter-finals and the team hopes to make it to the finals to defend their title. Free, all welcome.
