Swansea Metropolitan University (Welsh: Prifysgol Fetropolitan Abertawe) is a former university based in Swansea, Wales, UK. The university merged with, and became a constituent campus of, the University of Wales Trinity Saint David on 1 August 2013.

On 1 August 2013 the university merged with Swansea Metropolitan University. As Prince of Wales, King Charles III was patron of the university. The Chair of the Council is The Venerable Randolph Thomas former Archdeacon of Brecon from 2003 until 2013, and the Vice-Chancellor is Medwin Hughes.

On 1 August 2013, Swansea Metropolitan University became part of UWTSD. The University’s Royal Charter is the oldest in Wales and England after the universities of Oxford and Cambridge. In 2011 HRH the Prince of Wales became its Royal Patron. Lampeter Campus.
In October of 2011, the governing bodies of the University of Wales, Swansea Metropolitan University and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David made a commitment to irrevocable constitutional change and merger.
