Eldiguzid campaign of Tamar of Georgia in 1208 and 1210–1211 years. In 1206, the Georgian army, under the command of David Soslan, captured Kars and other fortresses and strongholds along the Araxes. This campaign was evidently started because the ruler of Erzerum refused to submit to Georgia.

Tamar achieved significant victories, overcoming two rebellions led by her ex-husband, facing off against the formidable Rum Sultan, and establishing an empire in Trebizond. Under Tamar's leadership, Georgia reached its greatest size and became the most powerful country in the region.
Queen Tamara, or Tamar (1184–1213), the most famous ruler in Georgian history, according to tradition used a white flag with a dark red cross and a star. All these flags were suppressed in 1801 when Georgia was annexed by Russia.
