Kahn and the Bath House. WHY WAS THE BATH HOUSE IMPORTANT TO KAHN. Louis I. Kahn had a modest portfolio to show for his thirty years of practice when the Trenton Jewish Community Center Association chose him to design its new home in suburban Ewing Township.
About the Bath House. Kahn, with the important help of an associate in his office, Anne Tyng, designed the Bath House so that its four rooms—the entrance (also referred to as the basket room), two changing rooms, and a porch—abut the sides of the central open-air atrium in the shape of a cross.
