The College clock is housed in one of the oldest buildings in Trinity: King Edward’s Gate, otherwise known simply as the clock-tower. This gate originally formed a grand entrance to King’s Hall, a foundation which was dissolved in 1546 and joined with Michaelhouse to found the new College of the Holy and Undivided Trinity.

Trinity College has a collection of some 240 pictures in oil, mainly portraits. The collection is the product of gifts from Masters, Fellows and Alumni of the College, and of commissions and purchases by the College itself, dating from its foundation in 1546 to the present day.
There is some magnificent architecture at the heart of Trinity – Great Court, the Chapel, the Hall, Nevile’s Court, the Wren Library – but there are also fine modern buildings, including an attractive development at Burrell’s Field, a short walk away through the beautiful College gardens.
