Choir members can be found directing plays, playing sports, performing in operas or close harmony groups, giving solo recitals and much more besides. Trinity has a thriving College music scene and excellent music facilities – Trinity College Music Society organises around 30 concerts a term.
In essence a mini-oratorio, Wesley’s setting features the soloists both individually and combined, in addition to the choir and a characterful part for organ. A rumbling fugue is impressively marshalled by Layton, and Sumei Bao-Smith’s gleaming soprano adorns the peaceful coda.
