En junio de 1661, a los dieciocho años, Newton era alumno del Trinity College, y nada en sus estudios anteriores permitía entrever o incluso esperar la deslumbrante carrera científica del fundador de la mecánica y la óptica. Newton was a fellow of Trinity College and the second Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. He was a devout but unorthodox Christian who privately rejected the doctrine of the Trinity. He refused to take holy orders in the Church of England, unlike most members of the Cambridge faculty of the day.
The Isaac Newton Trust is a charity established in 1988 by Trinity College. The Trust promotes learning, research and education in the University of Cambridge, primarily by providing support to early career researchers and by making research grants to departments and programmes within the University and its constituent Colleges.
