VigiBase is managed and maintained by the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring, known as Uppsala Monitoring Centre. In July 2023, there were over 35 million reports of adverse reactions in VigiBase.
The WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring is also called the Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC). The organisation is an independent foundation which works internationally for patient safety and the safe and effective use of medicines. The foundation provides various services and is involved in scientific research.
