Frederick John Robinson, 1st Earl of Ripon, PC (1 November 1782 – 28 January 1859), styled The Honourable F. J. Robinson until 1827 and known between 1827 and 1833 as The Viscount Goderich (pronounced / ˈ ɡ oʊ d r ɪ tʃ / GOH-dritch), the name by which he is best known to history, was a British politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1827 to 1828.

Robinson was given a peerage in January 1827, becoming Viscount Goderich. A month later, Liverpool resigned. Canning replaced him and he asked Goderich to become Leader of the House of Lords and War and Colonial Secretary. However, Canning died on 8 August 1827. George IV now asked Goderich to be Prime Minister.
