En diciembre de 1993 se lanzó el famoso "T5" con motor Turbo, el B5234T, de 225CV (el cual llegó a ser de las berlinas de tracción delantera más rápidas de su tiempo); junto con su versión de 2.0 litros, el B5204T, comercializado en esta cilindrada por los mismos motivos que el motor atmosférico.

In August 1994, the 850 Turbo was introduced for the 1994 model year as was the new 2.4L 10V engine (or 2.3L turbo), and the T5 making 222 hp (166 kW; 225 PS). The 1994 850 Turbo is able to accelerate from 0–60 mph (0–97 km/h) in 7.1 seconds.

It came dressed up with leather upholstery, a power sunroof, power front seats and 5-spoke alloy wheels shod with high-performance Michelin rubber.
