Ernest Aldrich Simpson (6 May 1897 – 30 November 1958) was an American-born British shipbroker, who was the second husband of Wallis Simpson, later the wife of the former King Edward VIII. Simpson served as an officer in the Coldstream Guards before becoming a shipbroker in the family firm of SSY.

In 1908, Wallis's mother married her second husband, John Freeman Rasin, son of prominent Democratic party boss Isaac Freeman Rasin. On April 17, 1910, Wallis was confirmed at Christ Episcopal Church, Baltimore, and between 1912 and 1914 her uncle paid for her to attend Oldfields School, the most expensive girls' school in Maryland.

17 de mar. de 2021 · The MailOnline reports that the photographs were captured during a trip Ernest made to visit Wallis and the Duke of Windsor in France in the mid-1950s (around 20 years on from the abdication crisis). One of the images – possibly taken by Edward – shows Wallis smiling with her American-born second husband.

He had a daughter named Audrey from his first marriage, and he would have a son from his third marriage. However, this second marriage to Wallis would remain childless. According to Barbara Cartland, Wallis had a tubal ligation around this time.
