13 de jun. de 2023 · By the 1980s, the Smithe family business had expanded to multiple locations across the Chicago area, all of which were run by the Smithe brothers. Passing the Torch Walter E. Smithe passed away in 2000, leaving behind a lasting legacy and three daughters who were eager to carry on his work.

May 19, 1936 - October 9, 2022. It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Edward Smithe, Jr., announces his passing. Walter was the patriarch of the extended Smithe family and the founder of Walter E. Smithe Furniture & Design. He died peacefully with his beloved wife of 64 years, Florence Flynn Smithe, by his side.
