Although leased in 1585 under the name of the Temple Farm by Ambrose Dudley to his tenant, Richard Brookes, for 21 years, (fn. 265) it was nevertheless leased by the Crown in 1590 for 15½ years to John Randall of Chalfont St. Giles.
