English is highly popular in the Sixth Form, at both A Level (Edexcel) and IB – especially at Higher Level – for which we offer an inclusive fusion of anglophone classics and of contemporary and international literature.

Every year, around 260 new pupils join Wellington at a number of different stages. From 2025, our new pupils will be 50% boys and 50% girls. 80% join as boarders and 20% travel to the College each day as day-pupils.
Maths. English. Video link. Wellingtonians are expected to put their all into the study of each language, and are encouraged to study two languages at all times. Third Form pupils choose two from French, German, Mandarin, Russian and Spanish, all of which can be taken through to GCSE, A Level and IB Diploma.
