  1. Henry FitzRoy, Duke of Richmond and Somerset (c. 15 June 1519 – 23 July 1536) was the son of Henry VIII of England and his mistress Elizabeth Blount, and the only child born out of wedlock whom Henry acknowledged.

  2. 1 de sept. de 2020 · Henry Fitzroy had always enjoyed robust health, but suddenly at the beginning of July 1536 there were reports that he was seriously ill. He was “in a state of rapid consumption” – the same illness that would kill his half-brother, Edward VI, 17 years later.

  3. Henry Fitzroy died at St James’s Palace on the 23rd of July 1536. He was aged just 17. Much like the deaths of his half-brother Edward VI and his uncle Prince Arthur it is unsure what actually killed him. All three royal boys died around the same age from some mysterious illness.
