William Wallace Lincoln (December 21, 1850 – February 20, 1862) was the third son of President Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln. He was named after Mary's brother-in-law, Dr. William Smith Wallace. He died of typhoid fever at the White House, during his father's presidency.

William Wallace "Willie" Lincoln. The third son of the Lincoln family, Willie was born in December of 1850. Willie was known as a intelligent and mature child, although he still got in his share of pranks with his younger brother, Tad. Willie died in the White House at age 11, causing much grief for the Lincoln family.
William (Willie) Wallace Lincoln was the most precocious of the Lincoln children—good natured and, unlike his younger brother Tad, studious. He seemed to have an affinity for poetry and mathematics and was unusually religious for his age.
