Xabier Alonso Olano ( Tolosa, País Vasco, 25 de noviembre de 1981) es un exfutbolista y entrenador español. Fue internacional absoluto con la selección española durante 11 años (2003–2014), totalizando 114 internacionalidades y 16 goles. 2 Con ella se proclamó doble campeón de Europa, en 2008 y 2012, y campeón del mundo en 2010.
Alonso appeared in all of Liverpool's games in the Champions League but the dominance shown in the previous season had gone as the team lost to Benfica in the knockout stage. On 7 January 2006, in an FA Cup third-round tie against Luton Town, Alonso assisted Liverpool to a 5–3 comeback victory after being down 3–1 early in the second half.
Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso also represented Real Sociedad, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich during an illustrious playing career. He won the Champions League twice and picked up four league titles, as well as the World Cup and the European Championship with Spain.
