There is support for the view of Ruth and Naomi’s relationship as a romantic relationship: Ruth and Naomi choose to build a life together, with Ruth described as having “clung” to Naomi. The word “clung” here is the Hebrew word dabaq , which describes closeness and was also used to describe the relationship between Adam and Eve, the OG married couple (1).
