Politics of Greece. A constitutional referendum was held in Greece on 29 July 1973. [1] The amendments would confirm the abolition (on 1 June) of the monarchy by the military junta and establish a republic. The proposal was approved by 78.6% of voters with a turnout of 75%. [2]
Phoney Referendum. This referendum was equally phoney like the one that proceeded it. The king was illegally not allowed to campaign. Also, the referendum itself was technically illegal. There are numerous sources in Greek that site massive fraud, intimidation and cover-ups to generate the desired result (abolition of the monarchy).

A referendum on restoring the monarchy was held in Greece on 3 November 1935. [1] The proposal was approved by nearly 97.9% of voters, [2] although the conduct during the referendum is not considered to have been free or fair. George II returned from exile and was restored to the throne on 25 November 1935. [3]
