John Stewart, 1st Earl of Lennox (before 1430 – 8 July/11 September 1495) was a Scottish earl. He was known as Lord Darnley and later as the Earl of Lennox.

The Earl or Mormaer of Lennox was the ruler of the region of the Lennox in western Scotland. He was created 1st Earl of Lennox on 6 August 1473. He held the office of Lord Warden of the West March in 1481. In 1482 he was one of the lords who seized King James III, but was pardoned.
