Rupert Francis John Carington, 7th Baron Carrington, DL (born 2 December 1948), is a British banker, hereditary peer and crossbench member of the House of Lords. Lord Carrington has served as Lord Great Chamberlain of England since the accession of Charles III in September 2022.
LORD CARRINGTON. Known for his role in the Falklands War when he was British Foreign Secretary, Peter Alexander Rupert Carington, 6th Baron Carrington came to the helm of the North Atlantic Alliance on 25 June 1984. Carrington was particularly refined, cultivated and personable.
His son Rupert succeeded him as 7th Baron Carrington. A memorial service was held at Westminster Abbey on 31 January 2019. Family. Carington married Iona McClean (19 March 1920 – 7 June 2009), daughter of Lt Col. Sir Francis McClean AFC and Aileen Wale, on 25 April 1942.

As of 2018, the baronies are held by his son Rupert Carington, 7th Baron Carrington, who is the current Lord Great Chamberlain since September 2022. The Hon. Sir William Carington , second son of the second Baron, was a soldier, politician and courtier.
