El actual Hotel 1898 de Barcelona, situado en La Rambla, 109, esquina Pintor Fortuny, es un reformado edificio neoclásico proyectado en 1880 por el arquitecto Josep Oriol Mestres . El edificio fue creado como residencia particular de la familia de Antonio López y López, marqués de Comillas, fundadores de la Compañía Trasatlántica Española.
