Sheikh Ahmad bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani (Arabic: أحمد بن علي بن عبد الله بن جاسم بن محمد آل ثاني; 1922 – 25 November 1977) was the Emir of Qatar who ruled from 1960 to 1972.

Sheikh Ahmad passed away on November 25, 1977 in London. His body was transferred to Doha and was buried in Al-Rayyan cemetery. Sheikh Ahmad Bin Ali Al Thani is the first Ruler to bear the title "Amir". He was noted for his solemnness, wisdom and careful discretion in tackling issues.

In 1972, with British and Saudi backing, the prime minister Sheikh Khalifah bin Hamad Al Thani (r. 1972–1995) took control.
