Aiko Miyawaki (b. Tokyo, 1929-2014), commonly known for her sculpture, developed a style of painterly abstraction that brought tactile, sculptural qualities to the two dimensional plane. Informed by strong friendships with artists such as Man Ray, Piero Manzoni, Lucio Fontana and Marcel Duchamp, Miyawaki herself became an important female Japanese pioneer of abstraction in painting.

Aiko Miyawaki entwickelte 1979 eine verchromte Stahlkabelkonstruktion, die so genannten Utsurohi, welches frei übersetzt „Ein Moment der Bewegung" heißt. Die Silbe „utsu" beschreibt die unsichtbare Konstante des Universums, die alles Leben animiert und den flüssigen Rhythmus der unzähligen Ereignisse in der Unendlichkeit organisiert.

Pourtant, toujours selon la galeriste, « les œuvres de cette artiste remarquable sont très difficiles à trouver sur le marché ».
