Bernstorff Palace in the 1760s. The palace was designed by the French architect Nicolas-Henri Jardin, who had been brought to Denmark to complete Frederick's Church in Copenhagen after the death of Nicolai Eigtved in 1754. It is one of the earliest examples of Neoclassical architecture in Denmark.

Frederik VIII's Palace, also known as Brockdorff's Palace, is the northeastern palace. It has been the home of King Frederik X and Queen Mary since their marriage. It was originally built for Count Joachim Brockdorff in the 1750s.
Bernstorff. The couple was given the Bernstorffshøj, a villa located near Bernstorff Palace in Gentofte, outside Copenhagen, as their wedding gift and settled there immediately in 1919. The Bernstorff estate was the residence of Prince Valdemar and his family, inherited by him from his father, Christian IX, in 1906.
Bernstorff Palace is one of the earliest and finest constructions in the style of neoclassicism in Europe. It was originally built as Count Bernstorff's summer residence. However, it changed status to a "palace" when Crown Prince Christian VIII bought it in the 1840'ies.
